beautifully restored colonial architecture, spacious rooms, jacuzzi tub
The building shows creaking wooden floors and old, chipped furniture!!! Some rooms lack a thorough cleaning, as dirt accumulates under beds and in cupboards!!! Attention to water fittings is desperately needed!!!

Large rooms with bathtub and shower, beautifully furnished, central location, good service
Furnishings a bit outdated and worn out, (e.g. fittings of the bathtub partly no longer fixed, bathroom fittings worn), not completely clean (e.g. thick layers of dust on the bedside lamps), compared to other hotels of this price class in Malaysia less choice for breakfast

Loved the spacious Hutton Beautiful King Room with Jacuzzi-great decor and cozy vibes! The complimentary breakfast hit the spot. Only downside? The noise from slamming doors at night was a bit disruptive. A good stay!

Consider checking the jacuzzi cleanliness before using it, as it may have debris. Plan for street parking fees during your stay.

Fairly clean place & knowledgeable staff on the front reception desk. Favourable location in a central area, near roti canai transfer road, pasar chowrasta and street art and the city center. Besides, excellent for visiting Cheong Fatt Tze. Efficient check-in, late check-out. Downstairs bar and great pool.

Incredibly beautiful and pleasant hotel, it has pleasant staff on the front reception desk. The deluxe king room is unique, we also loved pleasant views. The breakfast is solid and exceptionally nice, one of the best things. It has marvellous and stunning location close to Komtar. Every time we stay in George Town, like to stay here.

The room itself was very tastefully done. Room service was prompt. The manager, Nazlee, was friendly, accommodating and helpful.
One of the staff at the reception had a sour face especially since we explained that we wanted to check out after the first night despite booking for two nights. The pillows were not firm enough so I didn't sleep at all on the first night there. As a result, we only stayed one night although we had booked for two. There was a bit of a fuss when we stated that we wanted to check out, as the staff at the reception wanted to charge us for two nights even though we explained that I was not able to sleep because of the pillows. Fortunately, Nazlee came to the rescue and assured us that we would only be charged for one night. To his credit, he did his best to check us into another hotel of our choice.

Recommended for family with children
The bed was very large and comfortable, perfect for resting after a long day exploring. Enjoying a refreshing afternoon dip in the lap pool while sipping on their happy hour cocktails was a nice way to unwind.
It wasn't exactly cheap but still acceptable for the amenities we enjoyed.

Very nice room with beautiful furniture, and a private jacuzzi in the bathroom. The staff was very friendly, and went out of their way to help me with everything I needed.
The room was extremely noisy (also during the night), which made it very hard to work or sleep! The owners obviously spent a lot of money on the decoration of the hotel, so I don't know why they did not spend a bit more on isolation. The breakfast was very good during the weekend, but on Monday morning, there was almost no breakfast (only toast, not even juice available). Maybe they were still preparing it, but if they say that breakfast starts at 7, they should have it ready by 7.15!
